TikTok, the popular social media platform, has launched a new feature called TikTok Now, inspired by the BeReal movement.
BeReal encourages users to be authentic and real in their online presence, and TikTok Now aims to support this message.
Users will receive notifications to capture and share content using both the front and back camera on their device.
The new feature allows users to create and share videos that are unedited and unfiltered, allowing for a more genuine and authentic experience. Participants of TikTok Now will receive a prompt to share either a 10-second video or a static photo within a specified time frame.
This is a departure from the heavily edited and polished videos that have become the norm on social media platforms, and it is a refreshing change.
Currently, TikTok Now is exclusively available to US users within the app itself. A platform plans to release the feature globally in the following weeks, and it is speculated that it may be available as a separate application.
